Sabine Delafon has taken over 800 passport photographs of herself in photobooths since 1987. Using these portrait photos, Delafon created a series of search posters printed in 16 different languages.

Her manifestos recall ‘wanted’ posters but, at the same time, represent an ideal and romantic search for her other half, her own image in the world, her clone, her twin. The artist’s quest to find herself continues with the creation of the Sabine Delafon t-shirt, this time however, the ‘other’ becomes a protagonist in her search as well. Plain white t-shirts with her name printed on the front are worn by other people and can be personalized by printing their own name on the back.

Sabine Delafon’s work in centered on the concept of identity and spirituality. The notion of quantity is the key with which she builds and creates her different projects over the course of time, using photography, graphics and performance as her main media. Her messages are simple, strong and direct.

A fitting title for Delafon’s artistic career could be ‘A Human Life: an Existential Approach to Love, Work, People, Death and God.’
